This post was supposed to be up on Monday but, I got home kind of late and I wanted to rest because it took more than I expected - now I understand how long it takes to record an album. First things first the reason why I went to the studio is this Monday - January 25 - was 16 years my mom has passed away and I wanted to do something for her. Even though I've performed Someone's Watching Over Me in High School - December 17 2009, in case you care - the video had a lot of noise from the audience and you could barely hear my voice. I ended up knowing my city actually offered a studio for anyone in the city who find interest in music and needed help so, I reached them. I signed all the paperwork needed and, after they called me confirming the studio was available that day we started recording. I chose There You'll Be by Faith Hill because for some reason right now I relate more to that song.
Anyway, moving on to the interesting stuff, did you there are different microphone's to different voices? It scared the hell out of me knowing my voice sounded exactly as I heard on my phone and ,let's be honest, who haven't recorded themselves singing with their phones? But, don't worry, there's a different microphone "adapted" for all type of voice so the person I was with switched this mic to this one. Let me tell you my voice sounded way more realistic and I could recognize myself singing.
I was at the studio one hour and a half and even though I did five takes the record still wasn't finished to the producer - if we can call him so - said it was better to set another date to be there again.
